Carbon cleaning for diesel nozzles

new injectorsFirst signs of dirty nozzles

Signs of clogged or dirty diesel nozzles are:

• fluctuations in low RPM’s
• interruptions in acceleration
• difficult start of the engine
• more emissions and smoke
• less power and torque
• increased fuel consumption

When diesel nozzles get clogged or dirty the engine begins to suffer from the following problems:

Engine stopped, there is hesitation – without proper mixture of air / fuel combustion inside the cylinders is impeded, which is felt while driving. Noticeable is the sound of the car.

Loss of productivity – the engine needs enough fuel for proper combustion. If combustion is impeded, engine power decreases.

Interrupting idle at low revs – irregular supply of fuel during idling can lead to a lowering of RPM’s and switching off the engine. It can also have very difficult cold start or the engine fan not start at all.

Emissions and smoke – the decline in the efficiency of fuel combustion causes incomplete or uneven combustion, emissions increase significantly.

Increased fuel consumption – when the efficiency of combustion is influenced negatively, you will often need to burn more fuel to achieve the desired levels of performance.

diesel nozzle 1Why diesel nozzles clog?

The main reason to clog the diesel nozzles is the poor quality of fuel. Diesel fuel with more content than the permissible in EU sulfur causes damage to the nozzles. This occurs if you have loaded on the black market with low quality fuel or just today in the local gas station has added something else. Otherwise, all major chains already advertise with some mobile laboratories how they checking the quality, but so far nobody saw them. An additional reason is when the nozzles are already with long service in the vehicle and they are physically damaged  and got mechanical defects.

Frequently occurs deposition of carbon deposits in the nozzles, which leads to clogging them. This carbon deposit is not formed on the outer tips of the injectors, but rather on the inner parts, the needles of the injector and pilot valves. These deposits often resemble deposits of coke (dark brown in color), but can be very bright, almost gray to white at first glance. They can be formed into almost any kind of diesel engine – Common Rail or direct inject nozzles. They usually only cause operational issues in newer engines with direct fuel injection.

Once diagnosed the problem and ensure that the symptoms above are caused by the diesel nozzles there are several ways to tackle the problem. The first is to be treated with a chemical additive to clean the nozzles, it is relatively easy and inexpensive way to eliminate the problem. The next way is to dismantle the nozzles and cleaned with ultrasound with a special machine. Prices for this service vary a lot depending on the service and the machine, but they are related to dismantling, which is not free.

We offer another alternative, namely Carbon cleaning technology that allows us to clean the nozzles without even remove them from the engine. With the help of hydrogen produced by our Carbon Cleaning Machine and raising the temperature in the cylinders all scales are sublimated and ejected through the exhaust system. In addition to this procedure we clean also engine valves, piston rings, turbocharger and its geometry, EGR valve, Diesel Particulate Filter  or catalytic converter. And it all happens within 30 minutes.
